Get Connected, Get Involved
Being a parent is not always easy. Being a parent of a child with a bleeding disorder can be especially challenging. Several community programs offer educational support and tips to parents of children with hemophilia. Many of these programs also offer an invaluable peer support network of educated parents who mentor and guide others through the parenting process. A peer support network can be a critical factor in empowering parents to effectively and confidently raise a child with hemophilia. Parents can access a network of peers in the hemophilia community by getting involved locally with a chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation. The National Hemophilia Foundation has chapters throughout the country that are dedicated to education, advocacy and research to treat and prevent complications for bleeding and clotting disorders. To locate a chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation near you and to find out more about how you can get involved, go to www.hemophilia.org.
